The Namib Sand Sea, located in Southwest Africa,  is a unique coastal fog desert encompassing a diverse array of large, shifting dunes.  It is the only coastal desert in the world that includes extensive dune fields influenced by fog. The Namib Sand Sea was officially proclaimed a World heritage site and It is the second of its kind in Namibia. The Namib is almost completely uninhabited by humans except for several small settlements and indigenous pastoral groups
