Review : Samsung NX300 Smart Camera

Samsung has been an active presence in the photography market over the past few years. The Samsung NX300 Smart Camera is the newest edition to their range of cameras.

The NX300 Smart Camera has a modern, retro design with new improved capabilities. Samsung has been at the frontier when it comes to new improved technology.

Smart Features include the enhanced dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity. Users can connect a Smartphone to the camera with the Samsung “Smart Camera” App which is available for Android and iOS. Two modes of transfer available: AutoShare automatically sends a Smartphone-sized image to your Smartphone when a photo is taken; Mobile Link lets you use your Smartphone to decide which photos or albums you’d like to transfer. Alternatively, you can share photos directly from the camera to social networking sites, using the built-in Wi-Fi.

Image quality is good and the NX300 is also improved with better control of noise. The NX300 offers full manual controls as well as program, aperture and shutter priority modes, as you’d expect from any higher-end camera. It also offers faster autofocus, a wider ISO range and better image quality than previous models

The Samsung NX300 remains a cutting-edge compact camera that produces pictures and videos of a decent quality. Samsung has taken a great step to creating the complete package with this Smart Camera. It does take some time for amateur photographers to learn the features though.. It’s certainly a good camera, but with a current price tag of about R10 000, the Samsung NX300 is certainly a competitor amongst the other brands in the market.
